Gore Mountains
Getting To Piney River Ranch

We've chosen an amazing mountain getaway for our wedding; a remote location, without noise or lights of a city. However, that means you'll have to travel a little ways to get here. We think it's part of the experience, and hope you agree!

Piney River Ranch is about 12 miles outside of Vail, on a dirt/gravel road. Any car can handle the road, but there are some rough spots that you'll want to take it easy on. It is very slow driving, so plan on 45 minutes to 1 hour to get from Vail to the Ranch. We also hope that you'll take advantage of carpooling and have a designated driver to bring you home. We want everyone to have a great night, and make it home safe and sound!

Maps: Directions:
From the West (Avon):
  1. Take I-70 heading East to Exit 173 in Vail
  2. Follow the round-about 3/4 around ("left turn") to head North (pass under the freeway)
  3. Follow the next roundabout 1/4 around to make a Right (East) turn onto N. Frontage Rd W.
  4. After about 1.7 miles, turn left on Red Sandstone Rd. (look closely, this turn is easy to miss!)
From the East (Denver):
  1. Take I-70 heading West to Exit 176
  2. Follow round-about 1/4 around to make a Right (West) turn onto N. Frontage Rd.
  3. After about 1 mile, turn right onto Red Sandstone Rd. (look closely, this turn is easy to miss!)
From Red Sandstone Rd:
  1. Continue up winding road about .6 miles until you see a dirt road with a sign marked "Red Sandstone Rd. #700" and a "Piney River Ranch" sign.
  2. Continue on the dirt/gravel road about 10-12 miles following signs to Piney River Ranch.
