| Getting To Vail |
Click on the bold titles to follow links with more information.
- By Air:
Most of you will probably be getting here by flying to the
Denver Airport. Vail is about 2.5 hours straight West from the airport.
Flights to Denver should average between $200-$350 depending on where
you're coming from.
- Rental Car:
The best option for getting from the airport to Vail is to get a rental car.
A compact rental car will probably average around $30-40 per day. I recommend
reserving your car ahead of time either online or by phone. Typically the longer
you wait, the more you'll pay.
- Colorado Mountain Express:
This shuttle service can take you from the Denver airport to your hotel
in Vail. The shuttles are 10-person vans, and cost about $70 per person one way.
Click on the link above to go to their website and get more information.

Directions:
- Head WEST on I-70
- Drive through Denver, following the signs for I-70 West.
- After about an hour you'll pass by Idaho Springs, a cute old mining town.
This is a nice place to take a break, have lunch or
walk through some of the tourist shops on the main street. We highly recommend
Beau Jo's pizza in Idaho Springs!
- Later you'll pass through the Eisenhower Tunnel at the Loveland Pass.
Here you will be at 11,012 feet and cross the Continental Divide!
- Around 2 hours you'll drive through the towns of Silverthorne/Dillon/Frisco.
This is a nice area with a large lake to the south.
If you're looking to camp or stay a few extra nights, this might be a good place
to find cheaper hotels and more campsites.
- Exit 176 to Vail
- You made it!
